Stop! Don’t replace your standard bulbs until you have learned more about why you should switch to led can light bulbs instead. These bulbs are available for all of your light fixtures and there are numerous advantages to making the change. Read on for more info.

For an example, you own a chandelier that has fifteen candelabra style bulbs suspended from the foyer of your home. It always seems that once your replace one of the bulbs, another happens to go out. Instead of continuing to replace one regular bulb at a time, make a commitment to switch all of your standard bulbs out with led bulbs. Not only will you be able to enjoy a much bolder, crisp white light, but you will need to change the bulbs out much less frequently since led bulbs will last a much longer amount of time.

You will also notice that if you decide to switch out the majority of your interior and exterior bulbs and replace them with led bulbs, your energy bill will be reduced. Most led bulbs use 80-90% less energy than a standard light bulb. By switching out all of the bulbs in your home with the more energy efficient option, you will see the savings reflected every time you receive an energy bill.

And why stop there? Swap out all of your old Christmas lighting with more energy efficient led lights so that you won’t have to dread opening up that electric bill once the holiday season has ended. These lights also burn brighter, longer, and cost you less to operate.

Mardi Gras in the Upper and Lower Quarter

Nov
No Comments   Posted by admin |  Category:home improvement

When you go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, it’s amazing how different the Mardi Gras decorations are from one area to the next.

For example, when most people think of Mardi Gras in the French Quarter they think of Bourbon Street. This is the place you see in all of the pictures where the buildings have balconies and people are throwing beads down to revelers in the streets below. However, this is hardly the only hot spot for Mardi Gras

The French Quarter can be roughly divided up into the Upper Quarter (upstream) and the Lower Quarter (downstream). The intense part of Bourbon Street is in the Upper Quarter, and this is where all the tourists go. As you might expect the decorations include wild colors, lots of beads, and oversized decorations hanging everywhere. However in the Lower Quarter you will find many more of the locals partying. There are some of the same decorations, but you’re more likely to find things like Christmas tree lights, decorative masks hanging on the walls and more low-key decorations.

Don’t be mistaken though, the part is just as crazy whichever area you go to. The locals know how to cut loose and have many specialty drinks you won’t find in the clubs on Bourbon Street. In the Lower Quarter you will find bohemian artists and musicians playing on cafe steps and people dancing in the streets. There is a certain charm to seeing all the artists, quarter rats and musicians partying in the street that you just won’t find anywhere else.
